Kate Spade Inspired Wedding // second shooting

Life goal #519:  Chat it up with a Stealth Bomber Pilot...DONE! Yes, this has been checked off and I have bragged to my kids about it.  It was the topic of conversation during our car rides to school, the WHOLE week after Maureen + Richard's Kate Spade inspired wedding.  Lots of googling images of stealth bombers as well ;)  "My mom is cool" title has worn off by now, but I still can't help to look back on this day and just smile.

This was a wedding I photographed as a second shooter for Dana Cubbage, so of course she got some Ah-MAZING shots of the details.  If you are a Kate Spade fan and love garden parties, you will need to hop on over to Dana's blog post (HERE) for tons of inspirations.  I've never seen the interior of Cannon Green so colorful and vibrant!  The ladies of Ooh! Events + Branch Design Studio really knocked it out of the park!

Here are some of my favorites from their day!  I am obsessed with their streamer exit from the Summerall Chapel, such a fun idea :)

Legare Waring House Wedding // second shooting

Thayer and Josh's wedding day was the first on the books for me as a second shooter with, no big surprise, Dana Cubbage Weddings ;)

Given the winter weather we had just experienced in Charleston, their day was so much warmer than I expected a beginning January wedding to be.  There was a little bit of shivering by all, but as soon as the 20 something degree weather we just experienced was mentioned, we immediately felt warmer!

These two adventurous souls have been on so many adventures, with Australia being their engagement spot, surrounded by koalas.   They couldn't stop talking about their honeymoon, a safari in Tanzania!

It was so hard to narrow down my favorites from their day, but of course I picked some from their first look bride + groom portrait part of the day (becasue I just LOVE when the groom and bride have some time to enjoy each other before they are joined by their family and friends), a few of their wedding party, of course their first kiss as Mr. + Mrs., and ended with their first dance ;)

Sarah Jean + Ryan // Winter Wedding at Old Wide Awake

When one thinks of the seasons, Winter can sometimes be the least favorite of them all.  It's understandable, winter has the negative connotations of bleak, cold, sometimes blustery, and barren.  The leaves have generally lost all their leaves, the grass has lost it's color, everything goes dormant.  But, not on Sarah Jean + Ryan's wedding day!  Their big day took place on December 2nd and the leaves were STILL showing their colors, the temperature was perfect, the grass was still green, and the sun peeked out to warm up the scene every so often...I know it was just for them ;)

The girls spent the mild December morning enjoying mimosas and getting ready on the wrap around porch of Old Wide Awake Plantation.  The bridesmaids wore matching plaid flannels each embroidered with their initials...I LOVED this idea for a winter wedding!  While the girls were enjoying their morning being pampered, the guys were busy setting up a TV in the garage area of Wide Awake Park, where the ceremony took place, to watch the Clemson game.

After sharing a private first look on the grounds of Wide Awake Park, we were able to utilize all of my favorite spots for portraits.  The sun stayed tucked behind the clouds long enough to even enjoy the dock for portraits!

Sarah Jean and Ryan exchanged their vows under the majestic oak and in front of a cross made by the bride's father and decorated with greenery by Frampton's Flowers.  Their guests enjoyed the view and sounds of creek life, all as the sun was setting...It was the perfect backdrop for their ceremony!

After saying their "I do's"  the crowd gathered at the Plantation house for the reception.  Since all photos were taken before the ceremony, Sarah Jean and Ryan were able to mingle with their guests before dinner was served.  The dance floor got crowded thanks to the musical talents of The Business!  What a day + night!

Mary + Cole // Historic Charleston Engagement Session

Mary + Cole met up with me in the Ansonborough area for their engagement session right before Thanksgiving.  It was the perfect start to the holiday!  Our time strolling down Anson Street was filled with so much laughter!  There were so many favorites, it was so hard narrowing it down to just a handful.

Their wedding will take place in June at The Thomas Bennett House, one of my favorite venues in Charleston!  I can't wait for their day and to see what the ladies of Elm Events have in store!
