Sarah + Carl Jewell Pt.1 // Thomas Hall Classic White, Grey, and Gold October Wedding
I first met Carl when he was a groomsman for a sweet couple of mine, Molly + Caleb, who got married in 2017. When I received their inquiry I immediately knew who they were! I remember Carl smiling throughout Molly + Caleb’s wedding day. He was so helpful and hands on for Caleb. These two had so much fun the rest of the evening twirling the night away on the dance floor…I couldn’t get enough pictures of them!
We met for our consult and when they began to tell me about their two day wedding extravaganza, I knew I HAD to book them! It was also a great compliment to hear that I was the only photographer they were looking to book, talk about special!
The vision for their wedding day was small and intimate at the beautiful Thomas Hall location. Sarah envisioned an al fresco style dinner with music serenading them by their favorite duo, One Kool Blow. Although the weather didn’t allow for the al fresco dinner Sarah was hoping for, it didn’t affect the overall excitement and joy of the day. Everyone was ALL smiles the entire day!
Thankfully the weather held long enough for a sweet first look. Carl’s reaction to seeing his bride had me all teary eyed, he was in complete awe of her and didn’t take his eyes off of her the rest of the day! There was a slight drizzle during bride + groom portraits, but it was so romantic AND I got to use my clear umbrellas.
The ceremony was filled with personal touches, beginning with the groom’s uncle officiating to their rings being passed around so the guests could warm the rings with their blessings and good wishes.
After their ceremony, the guests enjoyed cocktail hour and the rain cleared up just in time for Sarah and Carl to share their first dance out in the open with the beautiful view of the marsh as their backdrop.
Being a sommelier, Sarah kicked off the reception by sabering their bottle of champagne. YES! You read that correctly, she SABERED her own bottle of champagne…it was awesome! The look on her face when she realized she succeeded, after a failed attempt the day before, was priceless!
The rest of the evening was spent dancing the night away before exiting through a tunnel of bubbles…word to the wise for all you brides looking to do a bubble exit, invest in some bubble guns! The amount of bubbles it produces really make the pictures that more epic!
Stay tuned for part two/day two of their wedding!
